CurrentInvestigate and resolve manufacturing problems to optimize product performance while minimizing cost. Assist management in identifying and initiating technical projects and programs which lead to improved processes and products, reduced costs or increased output.Conduct studies related to design, production methods, and equipment in order to recommend improvements which will optimize product performance while minimizing cost.Monitor and report on cost reductions which are a result of method improvements in order to improve profit margins.Improve overall processes and related issues including process development, creating process documentation, product assembly, and production processing, and problem solving. Other duties include the design, installation, and debug of tooling and capital equipment.Designs, in partnership with the Quality function, test control apparatus and equipment, determines procedures for testing products and procures, or directs manufacturing personnel in fabrication of, test control apparatus and equipment.Ensure compliance with the company health, safety, and environmental policies.Works with design engineering, procurement, and Quality Assurance Department to resolve production issues or implement improvements.Maintain a database of manufacturing capital assets (i.e., name, capability, location, etc.) to maximize the return on assts of and limit the capital employed by the company.Supervise activities of an assigned unit in order to provide adequate technical support for new product or process developments, production and product problems, or to identify possible new areas for technical exploration.Establish budgets for conducting function activities and accompanying technical projects; forecasts equipment and supply needs; and is responsible for managing section activities within established budgetary guidelines.
