So the casual "Let's get together and talk about copywriting once a week" thing me and some friends started doing snowballed into "Okay now we have a show! And bonus episodes! And a discord server! And a patreon?!"Copy That! is a show/channel/existential experience about copywriting and marketing. Most small businesses and solopreneurs perceive marketing as a black box of "best practices" they have to follow to avoid the wrath of Google. My job is to show them that it's possible to market their services in a way that's both authentic to their brand and garners real attention from the audiences they want to reach most. That process starts with a sit-down to hone in on their business' short-term and long-term goals (as well their personal ones!) so that we can build a strategy that will actually match their needs. Need a bump in short-term revenue? Let's run a hotlist campaign. Are things good now, but you want to secure your long-term growth? Let's talk about list building and engagement. Marketing strategies needs to meet businesses where they are - not where we wish they were.Once we've developed a suitable strategy, we move into content creation. "Content" is anything we eventually want to serve to our audiences - landing pages, website refreshes, social media ads, emails, video scripts, webinar outlines - if it's working to move audiences along the customer journey, it's my job to build it for you.My personal goal with each project is to ultimately make myself obsolete - marketing is incredibly important, but it's not rocket science. At the end of the process, I want my clients to feel empowered to handle future projects internally if they so choose. The point of doing strategy work together is to give you a blueprint to follow if you ever want to iterate on the work we've done together.

I work closely with government officials, political candidates, and local activist groups to refine their messaging, capitalize on public speaking opportunities, and craft strategic roadmaps for their messaging endeavors. Much of this work has involved writing speeches for clients and I am honored to have had the opportunity to write for an incredibly diverse range of clients, most of whom have been women and people of color. These speeches have encapsulated an equally diverse number of occasions, from statements before political bodies to words honoring unarmed victims of police shootings. This is the work of which I'm most proud.

Worked with clients across a broad range of industries (incl. automotive, education, commerce) to produce both technical and marketing texts for relevant audiences. Additionally offered consultation on navigating cross-cultural communication and best-practices for maximizing the conveyance of core messaging.

Conceptualized, built, and tracked marketing funnels for clients in a variety of niches (incl. SaaS, personal development/coaching, ecommerce). BOF conversion points ranged from traditional sales letters to webinars (with additional upsells), with the primary objective of maximizing ROAS to create (and perpetually promote) self-liquidating offers.Also mentored junior copywriters with emphasis on facilitating their personal development. This included copy chiefing their work, as well as overseeing/copyediting their contributions to my own projects.

Worked in partnership with founders to craft a brand story that directly spoke to both the company's vision and its unique value proposition. Deliverables including positioning statements, pitch decks, brand guidelines, "voice" guidelines for public-facing individuals, as well as press materials such as briefs, blog posts, etc.
