After serving as GM for The Oregon Golf Club (OGC) for nine years, it was an honor to be based back in the Portland area. Upon my return, my team and I turned the property around to restore the Club and course back to one of the best private clubs in the Pacific NW. Within approximately 18 months OGC also reached Full Membership, with a continued wait list to join. We were proud and excited to join an elite group of private clubs that have reached this coveted milestone. I also led our team to grow profitability by 150%+ over prior year. OGC's Peter Jacobsen-designed course and luxurious clubhouse and amenities (including pool, tennis courts, fitness area, covered driving range and a 35,000 sq ft spectacular European-style clubhouse) full of friends which make this a place you'll want to call home.-As a Regional Director for American Golf properties in the Northwest, responsibilities included GM recruitment, oversing daily operations and working with existing teams through management transitions. -Served as the General Manager for The Oregon Golf Club setting a clear direction for daily operations with the Superintendent, F&B Director, Head Golf Professional, Membership Director, and all other department heads to ensure execution of product and service standards.-Maintained high member and customer relations by promptly handling member and guest concerns and issues.-Sustained strong working relationship with Advisory Board and Member Committees to ensure the operating direction of club was in line with the club’s vision.-Increased member satisfaction from 63rd out of 69 AGCC properties to 8th in first year and maintained a top 8 ranking for 10 years.-Negotiated with local county land use officials for use of a 7,000-sq.ft. banquet facility

-Responsible for managing the daily operations of the hotel—voted “Portland’s Poshest Business Hotel” by Fortune Magazine—including the rooms division, front desk, maintenance, and all five food and beverage outlets.-Successfully managed staff to ensure standards of coveted AAA Four Diamond and Mobil 4-Star awards was executed.-Member of an Executive team that revised business and marketing plans for two additional properties, in Oregon, (The Benson Hotel and the Valley River Inn) as well as presenting them to the executive board for approval. -Managed the reorganization and renovation projects, of the Esplanade Restaurant at The RiverPlace Hotel, one of Portland’s best fine dining restaurants.-Assisted with the renovation of 50 guest rooms including the Grand Suite.-Revised purchasing and receiving policies to reduce excess inventory to create additional cash flow.

-Assisted with the design of the restaurant, kitchen and service areas of the clubhouse. Including selection and purchasing of equipment and furniture.-Operated as the Portland area Food and Beverage Director during the ’98 peak business cycle. -Directed the creation of business plans, marketing plans, mission statements, policies, and service standards for food and beverage in two Oregon properties (The Reserve Vineyard and Golf Club and Langdon Farms Golf Club). -Developed new training programs as well as retraining the entire management and service staff.-Managed sales staff for cooperate sales and events.-Member of a business development team for all aspects of the facility, including golf course and clubhouse design, construction and operations. -Managed the construction of the restaurant, kitchen and service areas of the clubhouse, including selection and purchasing of equipment and furniture.-Directed the creation of the club’s initial business plan, as well as the mission statement, policies, and service standards.-Formulated operating budget and daily audit system for the department including three outlets.
