I am old enough to say that I worked on the Viacom and U.S.A Network accounts when those companies were startups. The NYC-based agency handling those accounts, G. M, Communications, gave me my first experience in advertising. Eventually, I went into journal publishing where I worked on consumer and trade publications. Among the titles were Encore, Essence, CUE, Strategy & Tactics, MLO and Medical Economics. Excited by the revolutionary developments of desktop publishing and the internet, I started a freelance business in 1995 while I was Senior Art Director of Medical Economics. Since that time, I have gone out on my own and have been applying classic visual design principles to web and print communication.Specialties: Advertising, promotion, marketing, publishing, content repurposing, graphic design, web design, art direction, collaborative communications design

    As Senior Art Director of Medical Economics, a bi-weekly practice management magazine for physicians, it was my responsibility to oversee the design content and production of the publication as well as manage a team of graphic design staffers and freelancers. Most illustrative graphic content was conceptual, requiring conceptual thinking and the art direction of a wide range of illustrators. Photographic content was a combination of commissioned studio and location photography from all over the United States. Issues were predominantly 4/C and 200 plus pages. I was also responsible for the design and production of several monthly publications.In 1995 I proposed, built, launched and maintained memag.com, one of Thomson Medical Publishing's first journal websites.
