From $0 in sales in 2003 to over $60 million today. From 5 employees to over 250 employees in 2 countries today. From local buying through vendor to owning 2 manufacturing facilities in two different countries. All this can be broken down into the extensive knowledge and experience that I have gained in over 20 years.2. People management: With a total of 250 employees across several departments, structuring company hierarchy with appropriate rolls, job descriptions and processes has been rewarding to see today's results. Our strength and success are our people.3. Sales: Established 17 retail showroom sales, multi family account sales, commercial bid sales, wholesale sales and online sales. The learning alone from establishing the 5 sales channels has been immense proved by sales of over $60 million today.4. Finance: Being in the position that I am in, I have mastered budgeting, P&L structuring, pricing strategies across products lines and sales channels to be competitive, purchasing through vendors or deciding to manufacture internally, inventory ordering formulas to controls in excessive stock planning, business planning to have the right amount of people at all times anticipating growth without excessive payroll. 5. Wrote systems and process for the company across departments which went from my hand written processes converted to desktop driven systems today.6. Assistant Store Manager
1. Started at the Witby, Ontario location that had sales of approximately $65 to $70 million per year. Managed 6 out of 10 store departments, including; Kitchens and bath, Plumbing, Flooring, Decor, Millwork and At Home Services. Directly influenced 60% of store sales or approximately $40 plus million in sales with a staff of approximately 70 employees.2. Promoted to Canada's highest grossing flag ship store, Stockyards in Toronto that had sales of $80 million per year. Managed the same 6 departments at Stockyards as in Whitby. Directly influenced 60% of store sales or approximately $45 plus million in sales with a staff of approximately 90 employees.3. Implemented a store closing strategy where a team of 4 department managers walked the store and handed a closing checklist to the employees on the floor. An hour before closing the 4 managers walked as a team across all departments and signed off on the closing list as completed OR needed help to close. The department that was doing well, went and helped the department that was in need of help and together with the managers, made sure the department was in appropriate shape to close. Not only did this work well where store upon closing was ready for business the next morning, it also promoted team work between departments as someone always needed help and others were there to comply. 4. The decor departments that I managed during my 7 years at Home Depot, were very heavily customer oriented and sales driven departments as they were the decor and installation departments in predominantly a home decor business of Home Depot. Not many managers were keen on managing the decor departments, which I took a liking to and insisted on managing them, mainly due to the customer service aspect that I enjoyed and people management skills that I possessed. 5. Left Home Depot in 2004 to start my own Kitchen company in Hartford, CT. The experience that I gained at the Depot, helped me to create a $60 million company today.
