ESTABLISHED a new risk management department for a 1,118 acute care medical center. Developed a comprehensive risk management plan, wrote policies and procedures, and hired and trained new staff. Spearheaded the addition of the Safety function under the department and hired and trained safety staff. Results: Consolidated all of the medical center’s insurance programs to one department resulting in several hundreds of thousands dollar savings and improved the medical center’s environment for the safety of the public, medical staff members, and employees.
