Served as an Intern with Baylor Basketball Program; I gained experience by observing and assisting the athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach. The internship consisted of three parts: Operations, Strength and Conditioning and Athletic Training. The Operations portion of my internship consisted of creating a spreadsheet and checklist for all air and ground transportation, hotel reservations, and meal locations for the 2014-2015 basketball season. I learned and assisted in the process of requesting and purchasing bids for hotels, charter and commercial flights, ground transportation and catered meals. I learned how to manage and justify purchases through a set budget from the business office as well as coordinating travel needs with various travel agencies. The Strength and Conditioning portion of my internship consisted of observing and instructing programming for the weight lifting and conditioning for Summer I & II sessions. I created a summer training program, which I presented to the Baylor Health and Human Performance and Recreation Program. Summer programming included pre-participation medical screening, functional movement screening, corrective exercise, strength training, Olympic lifting and basketball-specific activity to increase overall performance. The Athletic Training portion of my internship consisted of observing and assisting the Associate Athletic Trainer in the day-to-day treatments and management of injuries sustained during athletic activity. I aided in injury rehabilitation for both chronic and acute injuries. I gained experience working with youth, high school, collegiate, professional and NBA basketball players. I also gained experience in communicating injury updates to physicians and all healthcare professionals necessary for each particular injury/condition. I provided assistance in the coverage of summer camps as well.

Served as the Graduate Assistant for the Baylor Track and Field/Cross Country as well as Baseball Programs. In addition to my clinical experience, I am pursuing my Masters Degree in Sports Management. I have also become certified by the National Association of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist.I am a member of the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee as the Graduate Student Representative. I am also currently serving on the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association Young Professionals' Committee. I was selected for these positions in 2013.

St. Croix, Virgin Islands

Provided athletic training coverage to the USVI U17 Men's Basketball Team during training camp (held in the Virgin Islands) and the FIBA Centrobasket U17 Men's Championship Tournament in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Gained experience with football, men's basketball, and women's track and field. I also provided coverage for men's and women's soccer camps during the summer.

Served as an athletic training student during my undergraduate coursework working with Men's Baseball, Women's Basketball, Men's Basketball and Long-Term Rehabilitation. I also gained experience at Mansfield Timberview High School with high school football, basketball, track and field, baseball, softball, volleyball and tennis. I volunteered at Green Oaks Physical Therapy Clinic in Mansfield, Texas where I observed evaluations and rehabilitation programs from post-operative to full participation in sports and occupational settings. Participated in in-services as well as assisted with pre-participation physicals, host track meets, and tournaments for multiple sports.I was also a member of the 2008-2009 UT-Arlington Track and Field team as a 400 hurdler.
