My responsibilities include evaluating, understanding, implementing and maintaining new developments and technologies for approximately thirty physician offices, physician groups, and medium-sized healthcare facilities in the greater New Braunfels area. I assist and support staff and users in the use of computer hardware, software and networks. I monitor and administer physical and virtual Windows servers for backups, antivirus status, event log entries, disk space usage and trending, and security updates. I perform network configuration and monitoring on the client’s LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN connections. I maintain documentation of each client’s server and network topologies. The skills I use daily encompass the desktop operating systems from Windows XP on up to Windows 10, the server operating systems from Windows Server 2000 to Windows Server 2012 R2, and network equipment from numerous manufacturers. Additionally, I supervise desktop technicians and a help desk technician, acting as level 3 support.

I was solely responsible for all aspects of all information technology, which encompasses design, support, implementation, and training end users at the New Braunfels corporate office and at 28 locations throughout central and south Texas. Within this scope includes desktop, server, LAN, WAN, mobile devices, security, application support, and disaster recovery administration.

I provided tier-two support for issues related to Citrix, HL7 interfaces between multiple systems, Microsoft Exchange server and account management, application delivery/launch, file transfer, antivirus systems, mobile devices, and data delivery technologies for the entire CHRISTUS Health enterprise. I was also the team lead, overseeing 14 highly-skilled network and system administrators. The enterprise environment consisted of approximately 30 hospitals in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

I was responsible for all aspects of server, network, email, and security design, implementation, and administration for the New Braunfels hospital location, which includes the hospital campus and several remote sites. I administered a 30-server, 500-node Microsoft Active Directory network running on HP servers and Cisco network equipment. I supported and maintained a secure Cisco-based Wireless LAN located throughout the main hospital campus. I designed, recommended, tested, evaluated, and implemented new system and network technologies in the enterprise, providing third-level technical support for any issues not resolved by the help desk or desktop support technicians. I was also responsible for the implementation of and adherence to numerous best practices specific to the network and systems infrastructure.
