Leading a data architecture project for CleverCards and advising CTO and senior technical leadership on process and SRE.CleverCards runs a platform on AWS that implement the logic to issue and manage Mastercard cards and to authorize transactions directly on the Mastercard network, supporting both enterprise business card control and employee benefit use cases.

I lead the technical and product teams at Avid Gaming.Avid Gaming provides the Sportsbook, Casino and Marketing platform for the Sports Interaction brand: sportsinteraction.comBy adding innovative features, transforming technology, hiring great talent and improving performance and reliability we have built and host a top-tier product and have massively increased customer numbers and revenues.Technologies we use include Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, MS SQL Server with HADR, Cloudflare, Checkmarx, F5 Big-IP, Redis with real-time push of price and game data for live and pre-match events.In 2022 we were bought by Entain plc for $300m CAD.Recently I have been working with our parent company, Entain, to help themtransition to an agile development method with autonomous cross-functionalteams.

At Full Tilt we developed and hosted one of the world's leading poker sites, capable of supporting 100's of thousands of concurrent active players. Additionally, we added casino games such as Black Jack, Roulette and Slots.I drove significant change in the organisation of approx 70 developers and QA, along with the product management team and business stakeholders, to adopt Lean and Agile principles and methods. I lead an initiative to reorganise ourselves into Feature Teams; to redefine how we work with stakeholders; and to adopt a practice of continuous change and improvement to our process.I managed teams of highly talented developers working in a wide range of functional areas, principally marketing, payments, middleware, web gaming (casino) and back-office applications.The technologies we used included C#, WCF, ASP.NET MVC, MS SQL Server and AngularJS. We worked on both classic n-tier architecture and high-speed low-latency asynchronous distributed architectures for poker and casino middleware solutions.

I had technical oversight of the Payments System. I oversaw the transition of the payment system from C++ back-end to .NET front- and back-end while continuously adding business features such as: • Integrating over 60 different payment processors • Anti-fraud and money laundering checks • Sophisticated and evolving routing of transfer requests • Dynamically displaying local payment methods to players • Player messaging and targeted newsI helped shape the agile development process, focusing on: • Quality communication between business, developers and testers • Focus on efficient delivery of business value • Reducing bureaucracy and overhead on the development team • Introduced automated testing

I was a consultant Technical Architect on Oracle's Java Middleware product set. I worked both on responses to RFPs and on client implementations. Clients I worked with included • Dublin City Council • VHI • Arnotts • The Department of Defence • Belfast City Council

I was one of the three initial developers in the company, creating CR2’s flagship BankWorld internet banking and channel management application. This was implemented in C++ with MS SQL Server and later Oracle. I saw the company grow from start-up to a successful mature enterprise.I completed the first integration with a client bank, and led the integration team. We worked on-site in many banks in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, India and Africa.
