General Counsel & Chief Legal Counsel for Professional Insurance Exchange Mutual (PIE Insurance), a professional liability insurer for dentists, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, periodontists, and prosthodontists in the State of Utah. I oversee all medical malpractice defense litigation for our dentists as well as advise the CEO and Board of Directors on operations and regulatory issues. Experienced attorney with a strong track record in litigation, appeals, and government administration/relations. As an attorney, I have over 19 years of litigation & appellate experience in various state & federal courts and administrative proceedings. Of particular note, I am proud that I have been successful in my last 6 appeals to the Utah Court of Appeals and Utah Supreme Court. As for government administration, I served as South Jordan City Council Member for 4 years, Senior Policy Advisor to Councilwoman Dea Theodore of the Salt Lake County Council, and as a Bureau Manager at the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) for 4 years managing approximately 18 subordinate staff and overseeing all of the non-medical professions in Utah under Title 58.
