As sustainability & development specialist, I lead Corporate Social Responsibility, Affirmative Action (including DI&E) and Disaster Response at Tata Motors at Pune. I support the organisation in achieving its carbon & water positive and biodiversity agenda. Together with my team, we shape the culture of my organisation through creating avenues for employee engagement such as employee volunteering, nurturing creative pursuits of employees through cultural platforms and other institutions crafted for adventure sports and photography. Additionally, my work entails mentoring and strengthening a woman led social enterprise called Tata Motors Grihini Udyog (that has 450+employees) and improving governance mechanism of 13 company promoted Trusts & Societies. As a group resource at Tata Sons, I offer my domain expertise in Disaster Response Programmes, Tata Affirmative Action Programme and Volunteering (Tata Engage). As a Convener for Panel on CSR and Affirmative Action at Confederation of Indian Industries (CII, Pune), I provide leadership in shaping the contours of CSR practice among business houses, voluntary and civil society, academia and government. In the past, I have worked on issues of human rights such as manual scavenging, Resettlement & Rehabilitation ( R&R), Land & Forest Rights of Tribal communities through generating public opinion, facilitation of international- national-state level dialogue between various stakeholders and actors through instruments of research and conference.In my free time, I consult Voluntary Organisations ( VOs/ NGOs) on a pro bono basis. I am a visiting faculty at educational institutes on Business & Human Rights, CSR, Sustainability and Affirmative Actions.
