Desktop Client for Secure Collaboration PlatformApplication built using Qt/QML and CMake to ensure write once and deploy on three platforms Windows, Mac and Linux.MVC pattern used to design the application to ensure fast refactoring of UI if need be. Total separation of UI and business logic achieved.Designed and implemented the secure local cache on the desktop using SQLCipher and SQLite. Sole engineer working on the desktop application (thin proxy) for the Web Security product. Designed and implemented several features of the product such as support for Terminal Services, auto-detection of wireless hotspots, Web Portal management of client settings, auto-configuring of browser (IE and FF), crash dump generation etc. Developed the Web service APIs that the client uses to interact with the Web Portal. Developed tools to help customers deploy the application and manage configuration. Developed tools to measure performance of the application, capture debug data and provide feedback to the customer.

Managed the lifecycle and evolution of the desktop application for the GotoAssist desktop remote control and management product. Designed and implemented several features of the application including expert transfer/escalation, improved debug data gathering tool, improved UI for better user experience and COM interface for integrating the application with third party software. All development was done using only Win32 APIs, STL and some Boost classes to keep size of the installation small.Attended customer feedback sessions and helped product management team with incorporating feedback into the product development cycle. Interacted with QA to ensure glitch free testing of the features and provided several tools to assist them in testing.

Worked on Nortel’s switches e.g., DMS-200. Maintained the software for the switches and provided solutions to customers of Nortel worldwide on specific Service Requests. The software worked on consisted of the operating system and the application software for the computing core of the switch and the software applications for the peripheral devices. The software was proprietary to Nortel. Projects involved reconfiguring the operating system which was coded in PROTEL, application software which was coded in PROTEL 2 (Object Oriented Language), switch control terminals which ran HP-UX and software applications for the peripheral devices which was in C++. Responsibilities included being Design Analyst for the Global Product Support team and Code Owner for the Code ownership Group. Both the projects ran simultaneously.Tools: Nortel Tools (Mentor - Code Browser, PLS - configuration management, SNS, OPUS, Debug, Idtrack, GURU), C++, HP-UX Shell programming.
