My current position allows me to bring all my past experiences to help coordinate the adoption of Agile methods within several software development teams. I have a background in biochemistry and computer science that has allowed me in the past to be a human interface between scientists and software engineers, where I am able to translate scientific needs into software reality. For example, I worked on a 4 year special project for BMS that focused on creating a flexible molecular trajectory analysis package that would allow scientists to quit creating a new program for each new simulation or property that they wanted to study, and to instead concentrate on the analysis of the results. Conservatively, this doubled their efficiency and saved BMS $100,000’s per year.• I am a long-range thinker but I still keep a tactical focus which enables me to manage projects on-time and under budget, while preventing extensive software re-engineering as products mature. For example, designed and lead development team in creation of extensible UI that allowed simplified addition of products by programmers in several disparate groups saving production time and costs.• Detail-oriented development manager with extensive experience in all aspects of software development, concentrating in science applications.
