As an IoT Measurement Associate with Honda of Canada Manufacturing, I am working on Honda Japan’s New Model related High Accuracy Body (HAB) project. I verify the Tier-1 supplier parts accuracy to improve supplier capability and white body accuracy. I use equipment such as Handheld scanning (Nikon ModelMaker H120 handheld 3D laser scanner and tactile probe with Nikon MCAx articulated arm portable CMM) and Automated Nikon K-CMM scanner (attached to the Yaskawa robot) with the help of PolyWorks and Metrolog software. I perform maintenance and calibration of precision measuring instruments such as Handheld scanning and Automated K-CMM scanning. I modify the robot programming to add more features to measure on part as well as to prevent any contact between the robot and part/fixture using Metrolog software. I confirm the robot programming through teaching pendant function ensuring proper movement to run full auto mode. I perform the regular quality audits of the fixtures and make the required changes on the fixtures as per the latest revision of the part design using the Blade (Catia V5) system. I generate the Individual and Statistical colour maps of the part as well as gap and interference colour maps between two adjacent parts using PolyWorks software. I upload and maintain the reliability of the measurement data on Honda Japan’s HABSS software. I locate and load supplier parts on/off from inspection fixtures. I ensure proper part sorting and selection for New Model build events. I tabulate and present part inaccuracies and deviations to management weekly using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. I collaborate with supplier quality reps to investigate quality concerns and implement countermeasures with suppliers.
