Driving sustainable materials related projects to bring ‘cleaner’ materials to the footwear industry.

Senior Manager in Gap, Inc.’s Advanced Concepts team (Aro). Initiating and leading multiple sustainability driven projects in the blue sky space. I particularly focused on sustainable polymer fibers, looking specifically to replace the petroleum source of current polymer fibers.

As part of the Innovation team, my primary responsibilities include new technology scouting and evaluation, and where necessary, development. My day-to-day involves external partner management, hands-on prototyping, and communicating the vision of the project internally.

As a program manager, I am responsible for managing research funds for our government clients, including hiring research scientists, equipment and materials purchase, and subcontract monitoring. In addition, I am currently serving as the primary investigator on two projects relating to organic photovoltaic devices. My research goals are to improve PV efficiency and to determine their feasibility of incorporating OPVs into structural components.
