I teach the Capstone Aircraft Design sequence, Adaptive Aerostructures and Helicopter Aerodynamics courses. I taught Introduction to Aerospace Engineering, Adaptive Aerostructures, Aircraft Performance and Aircraft Design classes. I also coached continental Europe's first team to take an award in an AIAA Team Aircraft Design competition.

I pioneered in the design, development and flight testing of some of the first adaptive aerostructures to take to the air. In this time period I developed adaptive missile and gravity weapon fins, wings and canards, made Mothra, one of (if not "the") first UAV's to fly under all piezoelectric flight control (Sept. 1994). I lead the team that developed Gamera, one of (if not "the") first helicopters to use piezoelectric elements for all flight control (Sept. 1997) and won Discover Magazine's Discover Award for Aviation Innovation. I taught Aircraft Design, Adaptive Aerostructures and Helicopter Aerodynamics Courses and coached students to: AIAA International Student Paper Competition: 1st (2004)AIAA Region II Student Paper Competition: 1st (2004, 2002, 2001) 2nd (2004, 1998), 3rd (2002, 1997)

While working with the WL/MNAV (now AFRL) group under Branch Chief Fred Davis, I developed the first theories and experimental hardware which demonstrated the utility of piezoelectric actuators for a variety of classes of weapon systems, from gravity weapons to air-to-air to aerial gunnery systems.
