With my particular skill set, competencies, and expertise, I am more than able to implement network security and protocols, monitor network traffic for anomalies, administer the network, systems, and databases, perform a broad range of IT hardware repair and replacement and software installation, and coordinate the investigation, forensics, and analysis of security breaches. I began my professional career as a Property Claims Adjuster which expanded my knowledge on the management of risk. Risk, meaning property and assets that may be vulnerable to certain types of hazards. During my tenor in the insurance industry, I always had a back-up role as the “go to IT Guy” due to my natural intuitive nature for working with computers and learning all of this machines nuances. My career in insurance was an amazing adventure but I never felt fully fulfilled, thus, in 2015 I took an education leave and attended Delgado Community College where I obtained an Associates Degree in Computer Network Technology. While obtaining this degree, I also interned for non-profit organization in the Technology division, setting up workstations and installing software. In 2017, I began working as a Network Administrator for an insurance rating firm, gaining experience as a network administrator, help-desk manager, network security engineer, oversee the purchasing of all technological devices, installing new hardware and software, onboarding new workstation, managing the domain and active directory, and managed projects as the lead team member from the initial phase to the projects completion. One year after beginning my official IT career, I decided to return to school, while still working full time to pursue two degrees from the Tulane University. One, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computing Technology with a concentration in Cyber Security and the other a Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security. These two degrees are combining both my passion and my former career experience.
