Following a 2016 retirement from Qualcomm as Senior Director of Brand Protection, Ron has remained actively involved in his field of expertise -- global brand protection(BP) and intellectual property rights (IPR) enforcement. He established international consulting relationships with the prestigious Wan Hui Da Law Firm & Intellectual Property Agency (WHD); Quality Brands Protection Committee (QBPC); and Michigan State University’s Center for Anti-Counterfeit and Product Protection (A-CAPP).WHD is an award-winning, western facing global IP firm in China. A 500+ member firm offering full IP service, covering trademark, patent and copyright. Because of their success and the complexity of IP law in China, the firm has developed an impressive Fortune 100/500 client list in the United States and Europe, defending their clients’ interests in China IP courts. As Senior Consultant, Vice President, North America, Ron is available to consult with potential and existing clients in North America, regarding their BP and IPR concerns.Early in his career, Ron served with the United States Marine Corps as a combat helicopter pilot and as an FBI Special Agent. He worked as a big-four international security consultant with Arthur Andersen and as a security director for General Dynamics Space Systems. Ron also was global security director for Honeywell Corporation and anti-counterfeit leader for Cisco Systems, living in Hong Kong, where Ron created and managed Cisco’s anti-counterfeit/IPR program. Ron’s extensive knowledge of the brand protection space defines him as one of the field’s most experienced, global professionals of the day. Having lived and worked in Hong Kong/China/Asia, Ron offers a” real world” perspective of brand protection.
