The leadership and management of Oscar A. Carlson High School with nearly 1400 employees and students in partnership with the principal. I was responsible for the instructional leadership of the Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, Industrial Arts/CTE and Special Education departments and Professional Learning Community (PLC). Also, I was responsible for the overall management, problem-solving, employee/student discipline, safety/security, mentoring, and evaluation of assigned staff at Oscar A. Carlson High School. I facilitated the creation, management, and leadership of the High School's PBIS Program and process improvement. Oscar A. Carlson High School had a significant decreased (ODR's) in Office Discipline Referrals by over 60% within four years and 75% over the past eight years under my direction.

Facilitated the smaller learning community proposal to create an atmosphere of smaller communities within a larger school setting. Provided opportunities for students to become part of a team and supported them in developing a career plan for their future through additional supports within a career academy. Realized major goals of increased student achievement, attendance, career plans, and decreased drop rates. Pioneered with Jackie Nunez the Hispanic Student Translator/Tutor Program. As a Department Co-Chair, introduced curriculum mapping, subject ownership, and subject pre/post-tests. Facilitated the implementation of Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics course.Hosted two Russian Economics Teachers, in partnership with the National Council on Economic Education. Ms. Natalia Medvedeva and Ms. Natalia Vitkivskaya observed an economic lesson in my classroom and later commented to Congressional Representatives of the United States, that Mr. Jacobs' class and an economic lesson was their most enjoyable experience in the United States.Honored by Muskegon's City Council for facilitating student involvement in local government.Created an integrated simulation that was used by the Economics, Government, and Mathematics teachers at Muskegon High School. Developed and Facilitated Muskegon High School's Reality Check Program. Honored by Who's Who Among America's Teachers 2002 and 2004. Designed and Facilitated The School of Health and Human Services CSI Muskegon Program. Organized and moderated Muskegon High School's Local Government Day.
