About Ron Johnston

Ron Johnston has a PhD in Landscape Ecology and Environmental Science. He was Subject Leader for Science and Sustainability Education on graduate and post-graduate teacher training programmes with the University of South Wales (2002 - 2016). Following this (2016-2018) he was 2016 - 2018 science education consultant with UNESCO : Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Education Peace and Sustainable Development. Lead author for the science chapter and editorial board member for the UNESCO publication Textbooks for sustainable development - a Guide to Embedding ESD (2017) [ follow link to publications section of my website below]. He was also a consultant with a UNESCO initiative supporting teacher research groups in Sikkim in Himalayan India, embedding sustainability awareness into state science syllabuses.
