Work includes locating random sampling sites using ARC MAP, gaining landowner permission, analysis of water quality, velocity, sinuosity, slope, sampling fish community composition, macroinvertebrate community composition, mussel assemblages, fish habitat, and riparian habitat. The majority of the fish and mussels are identified on site excluding a small voucher sample. Upon completion of each survey all data is entered and managed in a large Microsoft Access database. The data is analyzed and results, including IBIs and MBIs, are generated and distributed to landowners. Survey work includes overnight travel, maintaining sampling equipment, T&E species sampling, and work with aquatic nuisance species.
