Trained as a road engineer; and after 50 years of experience in railway engineering and operations, as a railroader, regulator and then worldwide consultant, Ron has retired to run his own company in four principal areas of practice: - industrial track design;- pit to port logistics; - new cost effective technology solutions; and- improving safety at level at-grade crossings of road and rail in Canada.

Assisting clients with rail and inter-modal solutions for freight and/or passenger services. Local knowledge, innovation and technical excellence in delivering customized and creative solutions that meet client project needs.

Advising clients on "pit-to-port" transportation options. Heavy haul rail expertise in standard gauge, narrow or other gauges used around the world.

Implemented modern safety oversight including use new track inspection vehicles equipped with automated track geometry testing.

Worked as co-op student for 16 months 1972 to 1975 in Toronto. Moved to Calgary in 1975 and have worked in the mountains of BC for next 18 years - Revelstoke, Nelson, and Vancouver.
