Ruby Play Network is an innovative and emerging gaming company with offices in Westport and Christchurch. My job at Ruby Play Network has involved consolidating company systems, looking for opportunities to use internal applications and software more efficiently and effectively, as well as provide training and support as the company continues to grow rapidly. The last 6 months has involved initiating and completing project to implement security software, including Identity Management, Device Management and Password Management software. This involved researching solutions, writing business cases, negotiating with vendors, implementation, training and support.

My work for Fahrenheit Web Design is to assist the owner with technical design and development of website elements, as well as manage some go live implementations. This involves the use of my skills in DNS, Hosting, Wordpress, PHP, Java, HTML and CSS and the use of various website builders and themes. I have also assisted with some client facing interactions including training. Although I work from remote, we communicate effectively and enjoy a strong working relationship. One of the more recent projects I worked on is the lacloche.co.nz website where I helped develop custom Woocommerce functionality and a page to allow for easy management of Gift Vouchers.

Since 2010 I have been the owner of a website development and management business which I have operated in my spare time. I have developed numerous websites for businesses and continue to actively manage those websites. I also do some contract work for another website creative business, fahrenheit.co.nz. I work predominantly with Wordpress websites, but also enjoy creating bespoke, highly functional websites and have skills in PHP, HTML, CSS and Java languages. My business website is lighthouseit.nz.

As newly appointed IT Manager, I was responsible for the complete management of the IT infrastructure and needs for the CJ Industries business. C J Industries provides infrastructure products and services including subdivision development, roading and concreting. My responsibilities are comprehensive and include tasks such as IT hardware purchases and configuration, Office 365 Administration, Azure, Intune, Sharepoint, as well as managing IT infrastructure and networking including the use of Aruba and Ubiquiti hardware. I am also involved in the project management of a new business wide ERP system. Other projects I have initiated include an upgrade of the security camera system, VoiP phone system replacement and a digital sign in system for all our sites. I manage all IT related vendor contracts including phone, security, computer hardware and 2nd/3rd level IT support.

During my 10 years with Air New Zealand I was responsible for the ownership of the "Trax" aircraft maintenance ERP system for the Bombardier Q300 fleet of aircraft. This system tracks the configuration and maintenance of aircraft, work scheduling, purchasing and stock management as well as financial tracking, all in a strong regulatory environment. It was a critical component in the ability of the airline to continue to operate. I had complete responsibility for the product including managing vendor relationships, working with company stakeholders as well as with end users, ensuring the system met their needs and they were well trained and supported. I was a member of a Digital Team which was responsible for all aircraft maintenance software for the company. This team included programmers, technical staff as well as business analysts. As part of this team I ensured resources were allocated to product maintenance and development as required, and managed specific projects such as software upgrades. The team used Jira and other Atlassian products to manage workloads and projects, all in an Agile environment.My broad IT knowledge helped me understand and troubleshoot technical detail of the product. My management and communication skills enabled me to communicate effectively with vendors, stakeholders and the engineer holding the tools. I have a tendency towards continuous improvement and looking for ways to enhance a product to make it more effective. One project I initiated was working with the application vendor to help develop new software for pilots to use on mobile devices which could be interfaced into the Trax software for more accurate maintenance forecasting. This software has now been further developed by the vendor and is used by other airlines around the world.

As IT Manager for Summit Real Estate I look after the maintenance and development of IT systems for the Summit group of 6 offices and 120 staff.I helped the business transition from standard Windows Server based email and systems to cloud services which helped significantly reduce the IT budget. I also made changes to help better facilite the ability for staff to bring and use their own devices on the networks.

My job as Transition Manager was a contract position responsible for managing the change and training processes for the installation of new financial software for the Health Board. The job included working with senior and middle management as well as staff at all levels to keep them informed of change, address specific issues created by the change for their departments and ensuring that every staff member had the resources, skills and knowledge to use the new system. I developed internal communications including a regular newsletter, developed training resources and conducted training and consultations with departments.The project was successfully implemented with a high degree of 'buy in' from staff and stakeholder goals being realised.

During my time at CNX I worked as part of a team providing IT support for a number of businesses in the Nelson Tasman region, including computer hardware upgrades, network and server changes and general IT support. This work involved travelling to customer premises. Skills developed and used during this time included the use of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Server, Networking configuration and management, Microsoft Windows, virus recovery, hardware changes and more.

Lifeway Ministries Trust is a charitable trust based in Snells Beach, Warkworth. As well as conducting tertiary education for various forms of media and business, owning a regional t.v. station, child care center and farm, the trust operated a Christian Church which I managed together with my wife.My responsibilities included managing the daily operations of the church and its community work, managing 5 staff members and 60 volunteers, budgeting, public speaking and more. During my time working with the trust I also enjoyed being involved in the media side of the operation which included presenting for a local t.v. program.

As an officer in the Salvation Army I was responsible for The Salvation Army work in the Central Southland region. This included social work, community liaison, managing the second hand clothing shop, running various community groups and Sunday services.During my time there we successfully employed 2 youth workers and built a new community facility.

Tritec was the company responsible for providing IT services for the New Zealand Government in the area of Social Welfare. My responsibilities included the maintenance and development of software using COBOL and LINC programming language.During my time at Tritec I was project manager for the development of an equipment tracking program. This included working with Government Health Department representatives, analysis of requirements, design, programming, creating training materials, setting up training sessions and travelling nationwide to conduct training.
