Ronald is the President of Eagle Strategic Alliances, which enables him, as a Certified Executive Coach and Executive Strategic Advisor, to pursue his passion for leadership development. Mr. Small is also a Senior Consultant with Visante, Inc. For the previous six years, Mr. Small was a Consultant with TJC International and JCR.Mr. Small retired from Wake Forest Baptist Health as the VP Quality, Safety and Service Excellence and Chief Pharmacy Officer. Mr. Small had experience and leadership responsibilities across the continuum of care including Cardiology, Infection Control, Service Excellence, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy practices in retail, long term care, home care, Infusion Centers, Antimicrobial Stewardship, physician practices and community health centers. Additionally, Mr. Small served for 18 months as the Interim CIO and 24 months as the Chief Procurement Officer. Ronald has been recognized as a Fellow in the APhA and ASHP. In March of 2013, Mr. Small was elected to the APhA Board. He is a member of the Faculty of the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy. Ron is an invited international speaker and has contributed to the professional body of knowledge on such topics as high reliability in healthcare, quality leadership and quality improvement, antimicrobial stewardship, and the safe adoption of technologies. Mr. Small earned his degree in pharmacy and an MBA from the University of North Carolina and was honored with a doctor of science degree from Campbell University. Ronald has a broad scope of experience in Process Management and Quality Improvement and was certified as a Quality Improvement Trainer by The Juran Institute, as well as certification from the Intermountain Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research. Mr. Small is a Certified Executive Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and a Yellow Belt in Six Sigma.
