Throughout the course of my professional history in the field of GIS, I was consistently rewarded with expanded levels of responsibility due to proficiency or leadership and accountability. I understand how to confer with stakeholders, outline requirements of a GIS project, and create milestones toward successful completion of each initiative. By melding my technical acumen with real world experience, I am able to generate precise maps and compositions comprised of the latest information available. I would be remiss if I did not add that I am a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where I honorably served my country before launching my career. In 2019, I decided to retire from my career in GIS. However, I stayed very up to date on the latest technological advancements because I always knew that I would re-enter the field at some point. Well, the time has come to explore professional opportunities available, and I could not be more excited to leap back in. Please allow me to mention some skills and achievements below: Because LinkedIn does not offer an ideal place to list technical skills, please allow me to highlight them here. These are all entirely transferable to my next organization.ESRI Suite (ArcMap, ArcEditor, ArcView), SQL (moderate), Python (moderate), Microstation, MTPS, GATRES, GPQCPS, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), ArcGIS ProI would also like to mention that I have earned certifications in “ESRI Visualization Techniques utilizing ArcG10” and “FEMA – A Citizen’s Guide to Disaster Assistance.” I am also presently enrolled in a Python course and anticipate accomplishing another certification. From 2015 to 2019, I had the pleasure of serving as a GIS Analyst/Transportation Specialist III with the Georgia Department of Transportation. In this role, I was accountable for updating and elevating spatial data for the continuing Georgia County Map program as well as streamlining production of 159 county maps by 75%. In addition, I served as the impetus for a memorandum of understanding between GDOT and the Department of Community Affairs to significantly reduce the process of the City Annexation project. During this time, I exhibited my versatility by completing linear edits in Roads and Highways for Local Road Activity. I also executed event edits for LRAs in Roadway Characteristics Editor along a very tight schedule. In addition, I was asked to contribute to the Local Maintenance and Improvements Grant Program. I am also very proud to share that I georeferenced all Georgia hospital, heliport, and school data points. Other duties and achievement included: Modernized and updated the symbology and legend for the County Map Production Project. Obtained updated and improved spatial data for that project. Worked as an integral member of the Georgia County Map team improving the accuracy of those maps and the pace of their production.Led production of the most accurate Georgia City boundary data as part of the Georgia City Boundaries project; updating over 750 city boundaries.Provided the impetus for crafting a memorandum of understanding between GDOT and the Department of Community Affairs to vastly improve the production and update of city boundaries. Led the resulting Georgia City Annexation Project. Affirmed geospatial data and annexation documentation while maintaining the associated chain of custody data. Granted responsibility for updating all cities in the state of GA.Credited for slashing the time required to fulfill the LMIG program through more effective spatial data; notably improving processes to desired levels for the biggest funded program within the GDOT landscape.

Identified and solved an immense shipping issue by locating more appropriate containers for maps; shipped thousands of maps simultaneously and saved considerable time and money resources. Leveraged acumen for Oracle SQL Server database, ArcMap 10, and related GIS software to execute Quality Control for an array of projects involving Early Local Census Offices (ELCOs) and Local Census Offices (LCOs), among others.Improved performance significantly by generating a PowerPoint training presentation on Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) Small Format Map Production utilized in all 57 LCOs in AL, GL, and GA.Bestowed numerous awards for meeting advanced deadlines in fast-paced environments.
