In 1998 Counseling & Family Services determined that Outreach Services were needed in the Center Bluff Area of Peoria. With the CFS Board approval and sweat equity-they opened the Outreach Center. In March of 1999, I was hired as Program Director to lead the development of the Outreach Department. I began this journey with 1 staff and a budget of less than $35K. In 1999 I developed the Day Respite Program for children suspended from school which provided a safe and structured environment for suspended children. Through this program we worked with this challenging population to assist them in developing skills that help them manage their emotions. The program was an immediate success in terms of it's practicality and addressing the needs of our community. The Outreach Department has grown in my 16 years at FamilyCore. I currently am responsible for a staff of 24 and a budget in excess of $700K. I have provided and continue to provide staff development, training and management for Outreach Staff. I am actively involved in Strategic Planning and Performance Quality Improvement for the agency. In addition I contribute to fundraising, public relations, and fundraising. I am responsible for developing meaningful relationships with individuals, groups and organizations for the purpose of providing the best care for our clients.
