CurrentImplemented Solr to serve as the product search engine for an 8 million SKU catalog. The implementation required development of data migration tooling to integrate data from our existing RDBMS and our Product Information Manager (PIM) for upload to Solr. This tooling also provides workflow management to ensure availability of PIM data within our Quality Assurance environment prior to migration to production environments.Analysis and integration of the 600,000+ item product catalog of an international acquisition into existing product catalog management system, including modification to existing product search engine and modification of the corporate CRM to add previously unavailable functionality.Designed, developed and implemented a new middle tier RESTful API for product search, reducing network overhead, simplifying new search integrations, improving separation of application layers in existing applications, facilitating more flexible tuning of search parameters and supporting the collection of search related signals for analysis of search effectiveness.Developed the prototype and architecture of a web-based application to replace the front-end for Motion’s existing in-house developed, mainframe-based system that provides CRM-type functionality. The architecture was designed to leverage the existing web infrastructure to support developer productivity and to utilize legacy mainframe COBOL programs, ensuring compliance with business rules and facilitating an aggressive implementation schedule. The resulting system has increased end-user productivity and created an application environment that has been extended considerably since initial rollout.
