I am a Finance professional who believes I have something to learn, something to teach, and something to contribute. My professional growth illustrates my continuous drive to learn more about the company and industry in which I work, which I then apply to the day-to-day operations. This “learn and do” strategy was so successful, I was promoted twice in seven years (Senior Financial Analyst to Finance Manager) while at Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Diabetes Care Division). Along the way, I was able to teach my direct reports new ways to look at the business, encourage them to create their own new ways to look at the business, then share these ways not only with other members of the Finance organization but also with other Areas of the company whom we supported. On cross-functional teams, I was able to establish new, meaningful relationships in which I shared my Finance and business knowledge. Through these techniques and my +18 years of overall work experience, I have amassed an extensive and wide-range of Finance experience (Balance Sheet, P&L, Plans, LBEs, LRPs, presentations to Senior Management) and business area knowledge (R&D, Commercial, Operations) and established myself as a go-to business expert.
