He also holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton where he studied Antenna Theory and Electomagnetics. He has also studied business at Webster University. Ron is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the states of Ohio and Alabama, and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Ron also served as the IEEE Huntsville Section Representative to the Joint Engineers Council of Alabama (JECA), which monitors state legislation that impacts the engineering profession.Ron holds a Top Secret Security Clearance (SSBI/SCI).

Science and Technology EDucation and TRAINing (STEDTRAIN)STEDTRAIN is a Committee of the Huntsville Association of Technical Societies (HATS) that administers a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Seed Grant program that provides funding up to $1,000 to an educator for innovative hands-on classroom projects that will stimulate children’s interest in science and technology.Since the Program began in 1988, it has distributed over $367,478 for 392 individual grants and other worthy educational projects. The grants currently benefit approximately 10,000 students directly and about 20,000 indirectly a year.All grant proposals are collected, scored, and managed online throught he Committee's website. Since moving the entire process online in 2010, over 150 proposals were submitted, and over $100k in grants were awarded to 117 area K-12 teachers for innovative projects that will "seed" student’s enthusiasm for science and technology. website: http://www.stedtrain.org

- Established a new business area under Information Assurance called Electronic Document Security (EDS), and developed a new software product for reviewing the content of electronic documents. This software product, called Document Detective, is used by many Government organizations for sanitizing the transferring electronic document across security boundaries. - Developed and deployed a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypted, interactive website filled with customized management tools and applications that were designed to work well on mobile devices, for people who are deployed to the field. The website included: 1. A specialized task tracking system that tracks individual tasks that converge to a single event on a specific day, such as the launch of a missile;2. A “Lessons Learned” Database interface that allows users to submit new lessons learned and to search previous lessons learned;3. A supplemental document repository for historical documents when the MDA Share Point database began to reach its capacity;4. A “Quad Chart” editor that provides consistently formatted and timely charts and can be updated anytime from anywhere and makes current information available to managers in near real time; and 5. A user friendly interface for a complicated and tedious data input file for the MDA Risk Chart Maker program;- Created an Operations Security (OPSEC) training PowerPoint presentation with embedded tracking and an email reporting capabilities to ensure the training was completed prior to deploying for a mission. - Developed an Inflatable Antenna (patent 6,963,315 B2, on 8 Nov 2005) that allows large aperture dish antennas to fit into a light-weight backpack for deployment to remote locations for high-bandwidth satellite communications. One prototype provided emergency communications after hurricane Katrina.
