My career in fashion has allotted me the freedom to be diverse in my areas of creativity. I started school in 2021. I have two Associates Degrees in Fashion Design and Advanced Fashion Design. I am currently finishing my Bachelor's in Design. I studied abroad in Paris, France during PFW 22'. I learned from designers at Christian Dior and Versace. Also in 2022, I was chosen as a semi-finalist for the Pierre Cardin Young Designers contest. I created three original fashion illustrations in the spirit of Pierre Cardin. I had my physical design portfolio reviewed by the Cardin design team. I started working as a Tailor at Levis in 2022. The details of this position includes: alterations, one on one consultations with consumers to tailor the garments to their specific body type, chain stitching, digital embroidery and utilization of the EPOS system. To date, I've completed over 300 alterations. In 2023, I won a $40,000 Design scholarship. I created three original looks for a budget market brand. The category was women swear. This process included: creating quick sketches, technical flats, tech packs, fabrications and trims and communication with overseas fitting team. The project was a full design process from idea to actual garments. I started my Debut graduation collection June 2023. The program is 9 months of designing to create a 6-8 look original runway collection. The process is similar to Project Runway in which our Director and Consultant on Project Runway Nick Verreos oversees the process. I created a 7 look collection that is mostly menswear and the show can be viewed in my portfolio link. In 2024, I won the TCL NXT in Fashion Design Contest. In this contest we partnered with TCL, the provided us with their NXT Paper 11 tablets for us to sketch one of our runway looks. The goal was to bring the sketch to reality and it was judged on the runway. I won the prize of $7,000. The link to the article is also in my portfolio.My Apparel Design internship with Tommy Bahama allowed me to assist the lead designers during sketch review. I cross trained with the Men’s woven team, knit team, bottoms and outerwear. I updated Technical packages in Flex PLM, provided quality assurance on strike offs and updated development cards in Excel.
