The Director of Safety and Training reports to USPA's Executive Director and is responsible for developing curricula for USPA training courses, administering license and rating programs, promoting safety awareness, and appoints Safety and Training Advisors for all foreign affiliates in conjunction with the local authorities. Additional responsibilities include writing and proofing of all content in the Safety and Training section of USPA's monthly publication Parachutist and all electronically delivered media. Communication coordination, research, and report-presentation development for both the Safety and Training committee and the Compliance Group of the USPA Board of Directors.

The purposes for which USPA is formed are as follows: To encourage unity among all persons interested in skydiving; to promote safety in all skydiving activities in the United States, to sanction skydiving competitions; to document officially all national and world skydiving records set by citizens of the U.S., to promote and encourage the study and knowledge of skydiving among the membership and the public at large; to cooperate with all government agencies connected with aeronautics or aeronautical activities; to compile information regarding the science of skydiving and to edit, publish, and disseminate the same; to select and train the United States Parachute Team for world competition.USPA regional directors have unique responsibilities not shared by other board members. Specifically, they have administrative duties and responsibilities to a regional constituency. They serve both as members of the board who, along with the USPA national directors, develop the policies and programs of the association, and as regional administrators of safety, training, and membership service programs.

Xcelskydiving's concept is an individually based premise on teaching the new instructor in a conducive, positive, and constructive learning environment how to teach their specific discipline by guiding them through the process with the IRM, the SIM and by reinforcing solid air skills. We believe that the training you receive during our pre-courses will prepare you to succeed in the courses themselves and ultimately make you a success at your Drop Zone as a USPA Instructor and in your future ratings.
