• Managing the production facility I was responsible for correcting payroll issues while increasing the thru put of the factory. While maintaining a labor cost of less than 1 hour of the guaranteed hourly rate for the production people.• By changing manufacturing methods we were able to boost production by 25% without raising cost or hiring new people.• Responsible for doing time studies and adjusting piece rates based on those studies while reducing downtime and increasing productivity and eliminating makeup pay.• I was also responsible for restarting the Pocketed Coil Machine after over 5 years of non-use and establishing the material stream required for running it. And was able to do so at a cost less than was being spent five years ago.

• Approx. 30 million a year in sales of foam specialty sleep products and ancillary items with approx. 150 people and 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse• Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager / Director of Research & Development • I was responsible for the design, layout and relocation of equipment to new warehouse in Corona, CA including the airline and electrical design and installation along with work-flow planning. In addition to the design, layout and set up of the cut and sew department, I redesigned the entire operation when the Medical division was spun off. • This included all aspects of the mattress business from managing customer concerns, the order processing, product development, purchasing, production and shipping & receiving. I also did the costing of new products for internet sales, wholesale and retail including material cost, labor and freight costs.

• Approx. 75 million in sales of towels, linens and bath accessories with about 750 employees in worldwide facilities (Ontario, CA facility 225,000 sq. ft.)• Company closed in early 2006 • Starting in building maintenance I was later transferred to the sewing department when the company discovered I knew cutting and sewing, and was then made maintenance supervisor. I was in charge of automating equipment to reduce production cost, improve efficiency and quality. I was also responsible for the installation of new equipment, in both the Ontario, CA and Tijuana, BC facilities, in addition to the implementation of a parts management program and down-time monitoring system to reduce costs.
