As a Corporate Finance Partner I served the private market to unlock value for clients on both a regional and national level. I originated and led a collaborative and integrated approach to all projects and transactions, with my focus on delivering value add expertise in M&A, strategy, acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts/buy-ins, capital raising, debt advisory, business modelling, project finance and restructuring.

The purpose of the Economic & Enterprise Committee is to identify, agree and formulate strategic economic and enterprise policy recommendations in the short to medium term with the view to establishing a business environment more conducive to the operations of the Chamber’s membership and driving Cork’s economic development.

Transaction Advisory Services During this I played a lead role in the restructuring space with a primary focus on receiverships, liquidations, debt advisory and independent business reviews. I worked with clients to provide formal and informal restructuring/insolvency services across the Munster region including, debt advisory and Independent Business Reviews. I have also been appointed Receiver over various assets by numerous financial institutions in Ireland. Other areas of in depth experience gained during this time include working closely with the EY mergers and acquisitions team, assisting with the provision of business valuations and various transaction services including buy and sell side due diligence.During this period I also helped enterprises focus on the preservation of capital by reviewing their strategies, markets and balance sheets to reassess strengths and weaknesses. During this time I also played a lead role in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) Programme for the Munster region by finding, nominating and building relationships with finalists. Other areas of expertise include the following- Significant experience in the provision of outsourced internal audit services to public, private and semi state bodies. - Practical experience in the application of a number of key public/private guidelines including the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies, Department of Finance Capital Expenditure Guidelines and the UK Corporate Governance Code. - Extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations relating to European Social Fund (ESF) funded projects. - Expenditure reviews and Value for Money (VFM) assignments.- Provision of enterprise risk assessments and internal financial control reviews. Assurance - I worked with clients to provide external and internal audit services, risk management, governance and technical accounting advice across a wide range of industries.

In early 2011 I was invited by the Department of Economics in UCC to become an external programme advisor where I work closely with the programme director for Economics in the BSc (Finance) programme. I help to facilitate programme development by working closely with the Programme Director. My role can be summarised as follows: Focusing the programme around strategic approachEncourage perspective of the programme as a "business unit" with specific goals, targets and actionsMentor to Programme Director and support via facilitation of team work. Guest lecturing on the BSc (Finance) programme with particular focus on Assurance, Transaction and Risk issues. Promotion of innovation through ideas generation, improved management and measurement of delivery. Advice on networking and how to leverage access to the wider business community.

2001 Cork / Training contract IFRS, Irish GAAP, US GAAP & Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance.2003/04 Secondment LondonThe execution of procedures leading to the issuance of a SAS 70 report on the controls environment of a global financial firm. 2005 Secondment New York US publicly listed company where the following was applicable: - 404 procedures on the Treasury Cycle.- Assessment of the design effectiveness of Financial controls. - Review of company Anti- fraud programme.2006/2007 Dublin (Wilton Place & Spencer Dock)Significant experience of managing statutory audits and in this capacity have served a number of multinational and indigenous clients.Lead role in managing an IFRS conversion project for a company on a first time adoption basis.
