Ran Field EngineerBt Jun 2018 - PresentCounty Sligo, IrelandI work on the National Mobile Network and also BT Ireland's core network covering the North-West of Ireland. I work on a range of sites including hillside and urban co-locations.There is a number of different aspects to this role which include fault diagnostics on a range of faults which primary occur on backhaul and mobile transmission radios. I work on a range of different mobile(2G, 3G and LTE) and radio platforms on a daily basis some of these include, Nokia, Cergaon, Huawei and Samsung equipment.Communication is a very important part to this role and I actively engage with site providers, site owners, GNOC(global network operations centre), other field engineers, BT management and also other third party contractors on a daily basis.I'm also responsible for organising and liasoning with third party contractors who are assisting and undertaking various type of work(air-conditioning maintenance, rigging and generator maintenance).I work on a range of environmental and power faults including rectifiers, UPS, backup generators and also air-conditioning systems in all different types of weather.Customer SLA is very important part of this role and constant fault prioritisation and time management is needed to ensure that our customers high SLA standards are not only met but exceeded. -
Noc TechnicianBt Sep 2014 - Jun 2018DublinMy responsiblities included:Opening trouble tickets and completing network triage and diagnostics on faults reported by customers. I also proactively opened trouble tickets in the event of a core or environmental network alarm and I raised planned engineering works in the event of emergency works being required to resolve a network fault.I had responsibility for answering all queries coming into the NOC via phone or email in a professional manner.I was also required to build software services across a variety of core network platforms – these included: Nortel, Keymile, Ciena, Huawei and Alcatel.I completed an analysis task on the core network to fill of cards and optical and electrical patches on core and customer services.I completed a service assurance step on new core and customer services. The task requires checking that the builds match the network inventory and are alarm free and fully supportable once live on the network.I also completed testing of core and customer service using remote test units – with a full understanding of Ethernet based testing and to being able to analyse test results.I had responsibility for monitoring and maintaining network alarms across all core platforms as well as having responsibility for supporting the field engineers in new customer installations.I frequently accessed newly installed equipment and confirmed reachability – in the event of issues, there was a requirement to complete triage and diagnostics to resolve any connectivity issues.The promotion of continuous improvement by working with core operations to identify and resolve inefficiencies maintenance and delivery activities. -

Opening cases and taking action within SLAs, demonstrating a methodical trouble shooting approach with detailed case updates being tracked at all times was a everyday part of this role.Some of the other aspects of this role included:• Initial trouble shooting and diagnosis of all faults using e|nets trouble shooting tools and monitoring systems• Opening quality trouble tickets and following correct incident management procedures to own, track, report, document and manage faults to resolution• Escalate issues as necessary to support teams in an efficient manner retaining close management of open issues• Providing quality support to e|net’s customer base updating and resolving issues in a professional manner within predefined SLAs• Managing customer enquiries, complaints and requests in a responsive and professional fashion• Installing, commissioning and testing equipment on customer/e|net premises in accordance with e|net’s predefined procedures.I worked a 24/7 shift pattern and I also fronted a number of different projects when I was in this role. -
Service Delivery EngineerE|Net Jun 2011 - May 2013Plassey Technology Park Castletroy LimerickI was part of the Service Delivery team whose role within the company was the installation and testing of new customer ntus (Network Termination Unit). I partook a number of different tasks within the Service delivery team which included creating Network Architectures for each new installation, building each service from the customer ntu back to a nominated carrier hand-off point. I also undertook the installation and testing of a number of customer services around the country. Once a service was installed and tested it, various pieces of documentation needed to be completed to insure that the service was installed correctly and ready for the customer to use straight away once it was handed over to them by their carrier.I was also in control of the stores and prepping NTU's for installation with a unique config for each service. I also ordered equipment and dealt with tracking this equipment. I was in control also of shipping all the equipment I prepped to our contractors which install the customer NTU's.
