The team develops instructional courseware for the facilities customers with the goal of highlighting key points in the ESOP, external standard operating procedure.Since I was brought to Hawaii to stand up this multimedia team, I've designed, procured, built and maintained a capability including a multi-camera mobile studio, multiple edit bays working off high-speed networked storage, along with a strong complement of 4K and HD field production gear.

I worked weekends (moonlighted) at this local TV station for about a year. Master control ops bring in program and commercial material from several satellite and network sources.The HD video files are transcoded, managed and prepared for air as they are loaded into the primary playback servers. Ops quality check files for timing accuracy and technical acceptability before they go to air, then operate the systems and switchers to bring together what viewers see. The position requires sharp attention to detail and ability to focus when uncooperative electronic systems present technical difficulties.KHON operates two simultaneous channels serving the entire state of Hawaii: The Fox affiliate, KHON2 and CW 2.2, with repeaters on other islands. A single master control operates both signals.(Update: KHON moved master control to a centralized hub on the mainland)

I was on the Media Support Team of the Mission Training Complex (MTC) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). We also produced a local dance show, cooking show and broadcast Buffalo City Council and school board meetings. We had a small, hard-working crew with great local management. I also made cold calls to local businesses to sell advertising, operated master control and trained student interns.
