Before leaving to establish Etoile, a new geopolitical consultancy, in 2010, Ron co-founded Haggie Hepburn in 2004 with David Haggie of Haggie Financial and was its managing partner for six years. Growing rapidly, the new business - runner up for new consultancy of the year in 2005 - focused on delivering creative strategic advice to international businesses and was short listed for awards for several influential campaigns for clients. As well as running the business, Ron personally led strategic and creative thinking for all client campaigns.

While at College Hill, Ron led the award winning campaign credited with keeping the UK out of the Euro. He also ran and developed the corporate practice of this City-based firm for seven years, building a successful practice founded on strong revenues, a close-knit team and globally significant clients, such as Manpower and Adecco, the world's number one and two staffing agencies, as well as the British Chambers of Commerce Policy Unit, English First Division Rugby Clubs (now the Premiership), the Tote, South African Tourism, Jigsaw and others.

Ron set up the London based communications team of Yamaichi International Europe, the investment banking and stockbroking group's main overseas subsidiary, taking the lead in rationalising and rebadging the entire group and developing the company's international communications policies, internal and external. Notably, Ron successfully promoted the firm's nascent M&A team and economics groups to achieve media recognition and award-winning status, in the process helping the company integrate into the City, launching a new bank and a UK Gilts operation in the process.Ron served on the company's Human Resources Policy Group, successfully introducing Investors in People to the company and in the process halving the firm's voluntary attrition rate.
