I am a communications strategist, writer and adviser, working at the most senior levels to enhance and protect the reputations of corporations, NGOs, executives and politicians. I am Managing Director of Perdrix Communications and a Partner in geopolitical consultants Etoile. Oh, and I just embarked on my PhD in Creative Writing after passing my MFA with Distinction.Recent engagements through Etoile include advising at government level in the Middle East, supporting senior royals and writing addresses to the UN in New York. I was also part of the advisory team to the Maltese Government in connection with its recent presidency of the EU Council.Other recent consulting roles have included advising the Central Communications team at Bupa and an interim engagement as Director of Corporate Affairs at J Sainsbury Plc during a change of Chief Executive. Before that I served as Group Media Director at Tesco Plc, leading the media team during a time of significant and challenging transformation at the company. Previously, I was Head of Global Financial Communications at Cadbury Plc, leading this area during the high-profile defence against the hostile takeover approach from Kraft, Inc.Earlier in my career I worked as a senior journalist at Reuters in Stockholm, London and Canberra. Roles included European Equities Editor and Chief European Equities Correspondent. While most of my assignments were within financial journalism, I covered a wide variety of stories including the East Timor conflict, the 7/7 attacks in London and even the Eurovision Song Contest.Areas of expertise include media strategy and relations, message development, reputation management, crisis and issues management, effective writing and mentoring. I speak several European languages to a fluent or good standard.
