Experienced backend developer and engineering manager ready for my next challenge!Before being laid off, I was most recently the Technology Development Manager at Camp Bow Wow overseeing internal teams of front end and back end developers working on enterprise applications used across a multinational franchise system; managing contract and overseas developer teams; planning, estimating and delivering enterprise software projects using agile scrum and kanban; and contributing code as needed as a backend developer.Prior to being promoted to manager, I was the lead back end developer at Camp Bow Wow, coding in PHP utilizing the Symfony framework, MySQL and object oriented programming to support a RESTful enterprise platform. As team lead I focused on mentoring other developers on the team through pair programming, code reviews and knowledge sharing. I led our team's daily stand ups, oversaw our deployment process, and wrote code using industry standard design patterns and best practices. I managed our team's Git repositories, wrote unit and functional tests and focused on gaining a deeper knowledge of the Symfony framework and Agile methodologies in support of my team's work.Before working for Camp Bow Wow I worked for the City of Boulder, Colorado as a Senior Applications Developer where I developed and supported the city's custom content management system using the Kohana and Yii2 frameworks. I developed a wide range of internal and public-facing enterprise web applications that utilized multiple APIs, often connecting to MySQL, Oracle and MSSQL databases.I also served as the Open Data Program Manager, leading a cross-departmental team of data experts to build out the city's first successful citywide open data program. In that capacity I wrote the city's first open data policy and created the processes and procedures that were enacted to support the policy across all departments in the city.I have served on the board of a number of non-profits including OpenColorado, a statewide open data and open government focused non-profit; and the National Association of Government Webmasters as Lakes Region Director and Board President.
