Supervise staff of 22 serving six departments – Administration, Police, Fire, Public Works, Recreation and Wastewater Treatment. • Built community coalition and developed campaign to pass a $25 million bond to replace an antiquated wastewater treatment facility that was polluting Lake Champlain during storm surges. Bond passed 87-13% in favor. Leveraged available federal and state grants and loan funds, congressionally directed spending and one-time American Rescue Plan Act monies to fund 90% of project costs. • Working with state regulators and an experienced engineering firm, completed a state-mandated Long-Term Control Plan to address sewer plant’s pollution violations. • Contracted with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to analyze police department staffing and delivery of police services. Began process of implementing 14 recommendations that will increase community understanding and expectations of police services, build community trust. • Following a community survey identifying recreation as a priority, funded a full time recreation coordinator leading to more robust, diverse programming. -
