These products, as of May 2012, are responsible for the exchange of .5 billion items a month, and almost a trillion dollars a month.Developed the software architecture for Metavante’s Enterprise Payments Manager platform, a single solution to monitor, manage, and control all payment types received and processed by financial institutions (check, debit card, ACH, …).Development Manager for Metavante’s Endpoint Exchange product supporting payment exchange between hundreds of banks and credit unions. Responsible for development planning and management, moving to automated testing, virtualizing the environment, and implementing project controls to improve software delivery reliability and quality.

Managed the requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, implementation, and product support for VECTORsgi’s Image Exchange product suite, currently installed at over 20 large banks (including Bank of America) and commanding 60% of the market in check image exchange.Managed and co-designed SVPCO’s Distributed Traffic Agent for the New York Clearinghouse. Received Motorola Quality Certification in order to train within Motorola’s Quality Center.Assisted NYNEX, Fluor-Daniel, AT&T, and MCI in object and data modeling, designing and managing application software and network infrastructure to support their data warehouse projects. Trained project managers for Cambridge Technology Partners in improving their rapid application deployment lifecycle, and modifying their processes to incorporate object-oriented development.Coauthored a book on object-oriented design with code examples in C++ and Smalltalk, and authored the first commercially available object-oriented project management handbook.

Responsible for the system architecture, data modeling and system design of a military logistics system modernization (50+ million dollars) for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Columbus, Ohio. This architecture supported client-server processing utilizing Teradata database machines for over 50,000 users. Effort involved designing and integrating software and hardware to meet the high volume processing requirements of the agency. Strong emphasis was placed on scalability and flexibility in addressing the agency’s needs. Internetworking options were a key design point in this architecture.Responsible for technical contract management of 90 subcontractors from Batelle on behalf of DLA. Provided technical direction to 200 prime contractor staff.

Directly involved in proposal activities yielding over eighty million dollars in new business. Considered a company key technologist.Supported the proposal and planning for the Defense Department’s Payments Data Center Consolidation, relocating five data centers and 60 billion dollars in defense contractor payments to Columbus, Ohio.Managed a Software Engineering Laboratory to explore and pilot new software engineering technologies on behalf of the company’s government contracts.Responsible for the design, implementation, and performance testing of TCP-IP networks for the Federal government. Constructed an IP interoperability laboratory for the evaluation and certification of inter-networking solutions. Assigned as technology advisor to the Director of Technology for the Defense Nuclear Agency to evaluate and prototype new technology for the agency and its subsidiaries. Prototyped a mobile emergency management system for the agency’s Nuclear Emergency Search Teams. Developed a comprehensive reporting system for agency finances.

Development manager for purchasing and inventory forecasting. Led effort to transition to automated inventory replenishment using IBM's Inform forecasting system. Also headed introduction and exploitation of EDI technology between the company and its vendors in pharamceutical and health and beauty aids.Led cross-functional team in the analysis and selection of a new automated robotic warehousing system deployed at the company's Fredericksburg Va.distribution center.

Developer for new inventory forecasting and purchasing system. Developed an interactive inventory simulator on top of IBM's Inforem forecasting system. Developed innovations that speeded the processing of the inventory forecasting process from over 12 hours to less than 30 minutes.

Responsible for material requirements planning and production scheduling for cable and circuit card assembly for Diebold's ATM manufacturing facility. Led efforts to implement MRP system that had previously failed. WOrked closely with IT on developing and adding additional reports and controls to facilitate the implementation. Able to improve service levels from 50% to over 90% in about 6 months.
