As a passionate electrochemist, I focus on developing innovative and cost-effective electrocatalyst materials for fuel cells, electrolyzers, direct urea fuel cells, and wastewater treatment systems. My research goal is to progress in renewable and sustainable energy technologies.With ten years of comprehensive experience spanning my master's project, Ph.D., and postdoctoral research, I have a solid background in fuel cell and electrochemistry research. At NITT, I worked in the “Fuel Cell, Energy Materials, and Physical Chemistry” lab, focusing on catalysis for fuel cells. My research aimed at developing novel electrocatalysts for direct methanol fuel cells through simple chemical methods. Building on this, my doctoral studies further explored fuel cell catalyst development, culminating in my dissertation on “Study of Oxygen Reduction on Non-Pt Based Electrocatalysts Treated by Cold Plasma.”During my doctoral research, I gained hands-on experience with material development for fuel cells and electrolyzers, including half-cell and single-cell PEM and AEM fuel cell testing and MEA preparation. My postdoctoral work at Chalmers University of Technology expanded my expertise to anion exchange ionomers, membrane effects on ORR and HOR, mixed metal oxides for wastewater treatment, and model electrodes for various reactions such as ORR, HOR, UOR, OER, and HER.In 2023, I joined DIFFER in the Netherlands to work on a groundbreaking CO2 capture project in collaboration with Toyota Motor Europe. We successfully developed a reactor that efficiently captures CO2 from the air using sunlight, a significant step towards reducing CO2 emissions. This achievement was recently highlighted when Toyota presented a prototype of our CO2 capture device at an event in Paris during the 2024 Olympics.Key areas of my expertise include:Fuel cells, PEM and AEM electrolyzers, and hydrogen generation technologies.Development of both non-precious and precious metal electrocatalysts through various techniques, including chemical methods, plasma-assisted processes, high-temperature pyrolysis, and thin film model electrode fabrication.Fundamental research on electrochemical reactions and fuel cell configurations, utilizing advanced characterization techniques.
