Oversaw a diverse worldwide community of photographers with over 800,000 registered members.• Developed and implemented community strategies to ensure optimal member satisfaction and achievement of site objectives.• Engaged directly with users, both online and offline, to actively drive, grow and manage the community.• Developed and maintained positive relationships with members by resolving conflict and encouraging positive interaction.• Identified and interacted with power users and community influencers to expand reach and engage in cross-promotion.• Tracked and analyzed member behavior to inform programming and site development decisions.• Spearheaded the development of site features and improvements, including the creation of a mobile version of the site, a Facebook App, an internal messaging system, in-post editing, upgrades to the photo critique and rating system, the introduction of photo contests, improvements to the functionality of the forums, and many more.• Collaborated with programming staff to design, test and implement site features and improvements, and to implement these changes as seamlessly as possible.In addition to the continuation of my role as Community Manager of Photo.net, I also took on the following responsibilities after the site was sold to Namemedia, Inc. in 2007:• Social Media - engaged the audience through various social networks - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ platforms.• Recommended and helped implement best practices for developing and managing user-to-user interaction on NameMedia’s special interest communities.• Collaborated with others on the Premium Sites team to plan and execute community creation, promotion, and maintenance for other Namemedia properties, including ImagePro, Photography.com, and Flyfish.com.• Shared monthly and weekly highlights and insights with General Manager and assisted in ongoing strategy development based on these analyses.
