About Rory Brown

I have spent a 2-decade career building cross-functional relationships and creating cultures of excellence with and for staff members to champion the success of multiple, high-profile, and complex projects. In fact, I have a knack for building genuine connections with everyone from C-Suite Executives to vendors and suppliers. This, along with extensive leadership experience, allows me to seamlessly implement and execute process improvements and direct change initiatives that positively impact project success. For the Silicon Valley International School, I was able to turn around a $4M new campus construction project that had fallen behind schedule. I hired 20 service providers, installed a new perimeter, completed 20K square feet of asbestos abatement, installed a card reader system, and updated security within 80 days--1 week ahead of schedule and under the $1.6M dollar budget. Once the construction project was complete, I was able to relocate 50% of the students and faculty from the Palo Alto Campus to Menlo Park. Similarly, at Stanford University, I coordinated parallel projects by implementing the project management lifecycle to manage 11 buildings—medical research facilities, academic departments, library, art studios, art gallery, 2 performing arts venues, 1 concert hall, and 1 outdoor amphitheater. The office fit-ups alone amounted to medium-sized capital projects amounting to about $100M.✦ Areas of Expertise ✦Change management, staff management, project planning, project reporting, resource management, risk management, contract administration, managing project quality, property management, space management, buildings and grounds, procurement and contracts, grounds maintenance, building controls, building energy management, building maintenance, contract management, space management, waste management, real estate services, maintenance budgets, people management, vendor management
