An Environmental Scientist on the Soil & Groundwater team, this role is split between field based data-collection during site investigations involving soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, and susbesquent data interpretation and reporting. A firm emphasis is also placed on working safely, with a behaviour based safety approach followed to minimise unsafe behaviour.Excellent organisational skills combined with technical competence facilitate the timely completion of the varied aspects of each project such as equipment preparation and sample container procurement, soil and groundwater sampling in accordance with BS5930 and internal URS field procedures, and scheduling of appropriate laboratory sample analysis; while strong reasoning and analytical capabilities and solid report writing skills produce meaningful results which feed into the successful completion of environmental site investigations for our clients.

Emissions Trading Unit

Internship role in the Emissions Trading Unit within the Office of Climate, Licensing and Resource Use (OCLR) of the EPA involving, inter alia:• Preparation of Greenhouse Gas Permit updates;• Reviewing, amending and approving revisions to Monitoring Plans (MPs);• Thoroughly reviewing Annual Installation Emission Reports (AIERs) for accuracy of reported CO2 emissions and compliance with Permit conditions;• Corresponding with installation operators to clarify inconsistencies in submitted MP proposals/AIERs; and• Determining materiality of errors, if re-verification/re-submission of AIERs necessary.
