Our mission was to provide a centralised location where all necessary tools were readily and easily accessible.To that end – we built a platform for hosting micro-frontends using Single SPA and SystemJS. One of our core goals was retaining the autonomy and independence of development teams by allowing them to exercise their own process and release features independently without affecting other teams - or the platform itself.In addition to this frontend platform, we built and supported a GraphQL Gateway service, which provided a single unified data graph for the entire platform.o confirm that we were creating tools that met both developers and end user’s needs, we also implemented a series of application modules using our own framework. These included a media asset manager, a user management portal, and a system for managing content displayed alongside sporting entities on the DAZN.com website.To ensure consistency across the platform, and aid in development velocity, we also created a fully-fledged Design System in Typescript. We worked closely with product teams to create reusable React components for use across all the different internal tools at DAZN.We were also responsible for ensuring that the platform we built could scale to burst loads that supported DAZN’s hundreds of thousands concurrent viewers. To achieve this, we implemented a highly scalable architecture using numerous services in the Amazon Web Services repertoire including Lambda, ECS, Fargate, S3, Cloudfront, RDS Aurora Postgres and Kinesis. At Sky, my team and I owned the customer service journeys across the Sky Digital Estate. We worked to deliver customer-centric web experiences with the aim of increasing KPI metrics such as Goal Achievement and decreasing call-centre contacts by reducing customer confusion or building self-service journeys for common issues where appropriate.The journeys my squad was personally responsible for included the Billing, Payments, Account Management, and Upsell journeys on the sky.com… Show more At Sky, my team and I owned the customer service journeys across the Sky Digital Estate. We worked to deliver customer-centric web experiences with the aim of increasing KPI metrics such as Goal Achievement and decreasing call-centre contacts by reducing customer confusion or building self-service journeys for common issues where appropriate.The journeys my squad was personally responsible for included the Billing, Payments, Account Management, and Upsell journeys on the sky.com website, alongside supporting web-views within the Sky Android/iOS apps. This included a full rewrite of the web billing system and the associated backend services – which were also used for servicing other channels.To drive improvements to our KPIs, we employed various optimization techniques such as multivariate testing and user labs. This resulted in significant KPI improvements during my time at the company – our billing redesign and rewrite dropped bill-related customer contacts by 85%.I was a primary contributor to Sky Digital’s development frameworks. This included backend GraphQL APIs, and Sky’s Design Toolkit.My team was also responsible for the maintenance of a host of legacy applications. Working on these required engaging with technologies such as Ruby, Java, Elixir and Groovy. We managed to successfully decommission and replaced many of these with JS Microservices frontend by GraphQL. Show less
