Adaptive Evergreen Fund invests in founders that are building their early stage companies with a primary focus on healthcare technology and B2B

Expara is a Singapore based venture capital firm that also provides acceleration, incubation, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship to start-ups from all around the world. Since 2007, the firm has invested in 80+ companies across Asia Pacific and the United States.I started my VC career as an Associate back in 2011 and later rose through the ranks to become Partner in October 2012, and later on Senior Partner at the start of 2018. During my time at Expara, I have led 60 investments in startups including DaNAGreen, The Collective Good and Sizzle. My investments cuts across multiple geographies and technology verticals.I worked closely with the start-up founders, drawing upon Expara’s shared tribal knowledge and my bio-research experience at A*STAR and in pursuing my PhD. I have coached and mentored 25 potential spin-offs from A*STAR, of which more than half has successfully launched or received funding.

Experimental Therapeutics Centre (ETC) was set up in 2006 to play an increasingly important role in translating early stage scientific discoveries into practical applications. From engaging in early stage drug discovery and development to developing innovative research tools for clinical analysis, as well as setting up public-private partnerships to facilitate the advancement of drug candidates, ETC augments Singapore’s capabilities and resources in the drug discovery process. At ETC, I worked in the Proteomics Lab to develop proteomics and mass spectrometry workflows in collaboration with research institutes, universities and pharmaceutical companies.

The Doping Control Centre (DCC) is a service and research centre providing organic and inorganic analysis for various local and international authorities, research institutes and private companies requiring evidential and forensic testing for regulatory and research purposes. At DCC, I helped establish and was heading three labs on proteomics analysis, metal analysis and new-born screening. I was also involved in the marketing and business development of these services to clients locally and in the US.

Anti-Doping Research was founded in 2005 to bolster efforts to uncover new drugs being used illegally by competitors and develop the tests to detect them. It also advocates for and establishes programs to encourage athletes at all levels not to use performance-enhancing drugs.I was seconded to Anti-Doping Research for six months to work on establishing a rHGH screening process to detect growth hormone misuse in athletes using mass spectrometry.
