My current role at the Museum is focused on diversifying our family audience. I work with a range of local people and groups who aren't currently visiting the museum. My job is to make the Museum a more accessible, welcoming and equitable space. I coordinate, project manage and deliver co-production projects, work extensively in partnership with local organisations, regularly welcome and facilitate groups on visits, conduct outreach and feed into the museum's wider strategy to widen our audience. I have also contributed to the development of a co-production training course for community organisations to help them understand the needs of a family audience, and in particular those with young children, and support them in developing and delivering their sessions.My previous role at the Museum was as Family Learning Co-ordinator and I was responsible for planning, programming, delivering, administering and evaluating an inclusive, responsive and enjoyable family programme. The programme reflected and responded to the Museum’s main and living collections, current exhibitions and cross-arts/international projects, national initiatives, corporate objectives and diverse audience needs.

City Lit College

I taught on a sessional basis in the college's Community Outreach Department with a particular focus on family learning and community education. I was also employed on a part-time basis as a Community Outreach Worker developing partnerships with voluntary and community groups in the London borough of Lambeth.

I was responsible for developing, managing and launching a Mentoring Programme for young people aged 10 - 18 years. In partnership with the Co-operative College I developed a training programme for Volunteer Mentors and co-ordinated training courses and networking events across the UK. I managed a Young Trainers Programme, which was specifically aimed at supporting and developing young people under the age of 25 to become trainers within the organisation. I also administered and managed a peer review programme for local groups to enable them to compare practice and improve performance. I was responsible for promoting events and courses, encouraging and recruiting Woodcraft Folk members, both children and adults, to become involved in all of the above programmes. I developed and delivered workshops at various events around the country as well as contracting with external trainers to deliver specialist training. I co-ordinated a series of consultation events to determine the needs of local groups and developed a training programme in response to these. I developed materials for an online 'Tool Box' for members, which supported volunteers with running their local groups and helped build their capacity to respond to changing agendas and priorities at both a local and national level.

Administered voluntary sector strategic and small grants programme, including assessing and monitoring all grant applications. Provided advice and support to applicants and grant recipients, liaised with other council officers and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with funding priorities. Developed policy and procedures to improve grant recipients’ reporting and evaluation methods and move to an outcomes based monitoring model. Contributed to practice groups regarding the development of local authority policy and strategy in relation to the voluntary sector.
