My current position is Community Engagement Coordinator (Families) at Horniman Museum & Gardens and I have responsbility for co-ordinating and delivering family engagement activities to diversify the museum’s family audience.Previously I have worked in community education and as a Development/Grants Officer with 15 years experience of working both in and with the voluntary sector. I have worked as a funder and as a development officer helping to support and build the capacity of individual volunteers and community organisations. I have worked closely with a diverse range of organisations both in terms of size and specialism e.g. Children and Young People, Older People, Mental Health, Physical Disability, Art & Culture, Learning Disabilities, Substance Misuse, Refugees and Carers groups. I am used to working with people from different backgrounds and cultures ranging from individuals, community groups, local authorities, national organisations and government departments.I have experience of developing and delivering training and have managed several learning programmes aimed at volunteers. I have co-ordinated and facilitated training at local, regional and national events liaising with colleagues, external partners, specialist providers and volunteers to ensure these are appropriate and responsive to local needs.Specialties: grants management and administration, capacity building, training
