SHP supports some of London’s most vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, through the provision of supported housing and community-based support services.As a Recovery Coordinator I managed a caseload of clients recovering from substance use addiction and supported them to access employment, education, and training opportunities. As a Support Worker I provide shift cover in supported accommodation services commissioned for young people and adults with complex needs, including mental health, substance use, offending, and street homelessness. These roles afforded me flexibility whilst completing an MSc.

I managed a residential mental health service for people with complex needs, including mental health, substance use, offending and street homelessness. I oversaw all aspects of service delivery, including client care, people management and professional development, facilities and contract management, and financial reporting and budget management.Key achievements:• Achieved straight As in local authority QAF audit• Managed the service with the highest ‘throughput’ (supporting the most service users to move on) of similarly commissioned services in the local authority• Developed the organisational strategy (Recovery Strategy) which set out the ethos for how all SHP services would work with service users, presented the strategy to the Board of Directors for approval and worked in the recovery implementation group.

Richmond Wellbeing is a non-government organisation that participates in providing a recovery-promoting support for people experience poor mental health.The Voices at Work Project was a pilot project that provided education and support to voice hearers and their support networks to assist voice hearers to gain and maintain employment. Duties:• Educate clients, workers and employment agency staff on the Accepting Voices approach• Coordinate post project support for project participants• Collate, analyse and report on quantitative data• Conduct semi-structured interviews, complete thematic analysis and report on findings • Report writing• Present findings to executive team, government agencies (Federal and State departments for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; and the WA Mental Health Commission), and at an international conference (ASPAC).

I worked in two residential recovery services for those with ‘severe and persistent mental illness’, one service was for individuals who have been institutionalised for extended periods and another for those who were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Duties:• Develop and implement person-centred recovery plans.• Prepare, implement and evaluate recovery-oriented group programmes.• Oversee the recovery planning of other recovery workers.• Liaise with health professionals, families, government and community agencies• Debrief staff members following critical incidents.• Supervise placement students• Audit medications records and case notes• Assist with conflict resolution between staff members.
