My debut play Inside, previewed at Theatre503 and The Lowry before a 5 and 4 star run at Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Fringe 2013. The play was nominated for the Fringe First, Carol Tambor and Bobby Awards. In 2014, Inside played Canterbury Festival followed by a national studio tour in spring 2015, supported by Arts Council England.My second play, Century was developed and supported by Sheffield Theatres. I was commissioned to write The Nest by The University of Manchester and NIHR for the European Biennial Science Conference 2016. Following this I wrote ‘Tanja’, with residencies at The Lowry Theatre and Crucible Theatre. Tanja was shortlisted for the TS Elliot Commission by Old Vic New Voices, Flying Solo at Contact Theatre and the RED Women in Theatre Award. ‘Tanja’ previewed at West Yorkshire Playhouse, Derby Theatre, Oldham Coliseum and Theatre Delicatessen before an Autumn studio tour at venues including Hull Truck, The Lowry, The Crucible and Camden People’s Theatre. An extract of Tanja was performed at The Houses of Parliament, December 2015. My writing always has a strong human Interest to it, drawing on real life stories that are often the subject of national and international press interest – dealing with issues such as feminism, immigration, politics, mental health, abuse and humanity.
