Growing up in Aberdeen the Energy Industry, particularly Oil and Gas was ever evident which provided many exciting local opportunities. Discovering a talent for maths and sciences at high school I decided to study Chemical Engineering with the intention of pursuing a career in the industry. However on graduating the market took a major down turn so I went on to further my education with an MSc in Information Systems. The combination of engineering and programming skills stood me in good stead and I secured my first professional position supporting the development of an database to analyse daily well performance data.This temporary position led me to further my oil and gas career in Aberdeen and Perth (Australia not Scotland!) where I continued to implement my programming skills to create various user friendly spreadsheet based modelling tools for equipment sizing and cost estimations alongside some more practical off and onshore operational experience and new development design studies.When Tony accepted a position in Muscat , Oman, which coincided with the arrival of our 2nd daughter I decided to take some time out to focus on our young family. Whilst caring for small children I have spent my time learning new skills and volunteering my spare time in various community groups both in Muscat and Brentford.Most recently I have enjoyed being involved with my daughters community grassroots football team, gaining my FA level 1 in coaching football, reorganising all of the clubs admin and social media marketing. My greatest achievement at the club to date has been to help it grow from only 2 teams and 20 players to 7 youth teams entered into the league this season and over 100 girls playing each week.In between juggling 3 kids, 2 cats, 1 husband and a football club I am a keen photographer and enjoy getting a bit of zen on with yoga but I am excited to shift my focus and my skills to the exciting new opportunities Olwg will bring!
